Dr. Ibrahim Seaga Shaw is Senior Lecturer in Media and Politics at Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, and secretary general of the International Peace Research Association.
Dr. Shaw continues to contribute his expertise to scholarship and policy in the following areas: Media and human rights; media, conflict and development; Media and Business; Business and Journalism; Media, democracy and Human Rights; Media and Political Economy; peace journalism; global journalism; and media and humanitarian intervention.
With a background in journalism in Sierra Leone, Britain and France, Dr. Shaw edited Sierra Leone’s award winning Expo Times newspaper in the mid 1990s.
He holds a PhD from the Sorbonne. He has published several articles in leading academic journals, and co-edited two special issues of leading journals.
He is author ‘Human Rights Journalism’ Palgrave Macmillan (2012) and co-editor of ‘Expanding Peace Journalism’ Sydney University Press (2012).
He is author of ‘Business Journalism: Critical Political Economy Approach’ (Routledge 2016-pubished August 2015).
He is also co-editor of ‘Communicating Differences’ (Palgrave Macmillan 2016—due out November 2015).
Shaw was in 2012 commissioned by UNESCO to do a module on humanitarian journalism as part of the revision of the UNESCO Journalism Education Model curricula 2013.
Dr Shaw currently supervises PhD students and has served as PhD and MPhil external examiner at various universities, including Swansea, Bedfordshire and Bournemouth.
Dr. Nesrin Kenar is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Political Sciences, Sakarya University, Turkey.
She has contributed to important topics related to Globalization, Religion and Politics, Ethnic Conflicts, Yugoslavia Conflicts, Bosnia-Herzegovina Civil War, International and Foreign Policy Strategies of States. She is Institutional Coordinator of European Union Projects in Sakarya University. She was President of European Peace Research Association from 2008 to 2012, as well as a member of the editorial board of Global Peace International Journal.
She is the author of “The National and International Dimensions of Yugoslavia Question” book in 2005.
Dr. Kenar has published several international and national articles and book chapter on international relations, foreign policy, and peace and conflict studies.
She holds a PhD from Marmara University, Institute of Social Science Department of International Relations, stanbul, Turkey on “The National and International Dimensions of the Yugoslavia Crisis”.
Dr. Kenar organized a lot of international and national conference in academic field.
Dr. Nesrin Kenar was President of EuPRA between 2008-2012
She organized: EuPRA Conference in Sakarya University in 2007, EuPRA Conference in Tirana in 2009 and the EuPRA Conference in Tampere in 2011.
